Water Security & Sustainable Development Hub Logo

The Hub’s research supports the development of new and/or revised frameworks that tackle integrated risks and improve sustainability. The adoption of evidence-based frameworks, that synthesis previously dispersed data, will equip managers, operators, and agencies to deal with complex water-related problems in an integrated manner. These frameworks will enable equitable distribution of water resources that maximise environmental sustainability and minimise risks to human health. We aim to ensure solutions are locally-relevant and designed with input from all stakeholders, from communities to industry. An important precondition of tailored water resource management is citizen science, local ownership of data, and community capacity. Through pilots and standardised protocols that can be adapted at scale or in other contexts, we can influence policy-level interventions that support the improvement of ecosystem and human health outcomes.
