This year, the theme of the United Nation's International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is ‘leaving no one behind', demanding indigenous peoples’ inclusion, participation, and approval in social contracts around the world.

Indigenous communities can be a real force for change; their lived experiences, knowledge, and traditional practices are crucial to protecting biodiversity, restoring ecosystem health, and preserving historic territorial connections. This knowledge is fundamental in understanding values and approaches to water security; the Hub is working to strengthen the bridge between indigenous and local knowledge and academic science, to face the global water crisis together. We hope you enjoy our reflections to mark this year's International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples.
